It's baby time
No...not me. A friend of mine had her baby yesterday. I was a little jealous of her for several reasons--but not because I want another baby...I'm done with all of that!
She was prego when I met her, and can I just say that you could only tell that she was prego if you saw her from the front or the side. She was a skinny mama-to-be. I, on the other hand, gained at least 65 lbs with each of mine, and I looked like a Weeble.
This is her first child, so when Papa called our house at 7:30 yesterday morning saying, "It's time", I told him that she may not have that baby for another day or two (as it was in my case). Her water hadn't broken yet, and she was still able to walk around and talk through the contractions.
Long story short...at 3:00 I stopped by the hospital to lend them my video camera. Papa met me outside, and I asked how things were going. He says to me, "She's here." I didn't understand at first, because obviously I knew she was at the hospital. "No--SHE'S here. Syl had the baby."
So much for shortening a long story...She only had to push for 20 minutes--half an hour after they got to the hospital. (My first, I pushed for 3 hours with no drugs after having been in labor for 2 days already!)
Now I have a little baby girl to knit for!! I'm so excited. What to make first???

Okay, where do I sign up to have a baby in 20 minutes? Where??
Ooh, there seems like there are so many goodies to make for babies! I bet she would appreciate anything you made. Maybe a baby blanket? Or a soft hat for winter?
