I feel just terrible!!! Sadly, I don't have my camera here, so I don't have any pictures, yet...but I will tell you that I got some really cute wool, some dpns, and a customized sock pattern that seems pretty idiot-proof. Well, I hope it's idiot-proof--I have yet to master the art of knitting on dpns. Should be quite an adventure...I'll keep you posted on the progress (once it starts).KnitGyverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10803494997138906680noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33985895.post-1162738229419215302006-11-05T08:39:00.000-06:002006-11-05T08:50:29.440-06:00It's baby timeNo...not me. A friend of mine had her baby yesterday. I was a little jealous of her for several reasons--but not because I want another baby...I'm done with all of that!

She was prego when I met her, and can I just say that you could only tell that she was prego if you saw her from the front or the side. She was a skinny mama-to-be. I, on the other hand, gained at least 65 lbs with each of mine, and I looked like a Weeble.

This is her first child, so when Papa called our house at 7:30 yesterday morning saying, "It's time", I told him that she may not have that baby for another day or two (as it was in my case). Her water hadn't broken yet, and she was still able to walk around and talk through the contractions.

Long story short...at 3:00 I stopped by the hospital to lend them my video camera. Papa met me outside, and I asked how things were going. He says to me, "She's here." I didn't understand at first, because obviously I knew she was at the hospital. "No--SHE'S here. Syl had the baby."

So much for shortening a long story...She only had to push for 20 minutes--half an hour after they got to the hospital. (My first, I pushed for 3 hours with no drugs after having been in labor for 2 days already!)

Now I have a little baby girl to knit for!! I'm so excited. What to make first???KnitGyverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10803494997138906680noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33985895.post-1162305807699638752006-10-31T08:37:00.000-06:002006-10-31T08:43:27.710-06:00I made these with my own uterus!
We just got the school pictures in...Meet KeKe and Hadzilla!KnitGyverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10803494997138906680noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33985895.post-1161040924987980202006-10-16T18:03:00.000-05:002006-10-16T18:22:05.003-05:00It's my Birfday...yea--I said "birfday"--gotta problem with that??So, today is my birthday, and I thought I would share what I got...(sorry, no new knitting pics yet--keep your pants on!)

I'll start with the gifts I got from the old man and the kids...T got me Season 3 of Arrested Development (RIP), and you can't see it that well in the picture--but he also got me a bottle of Vera Wang "Princess" perfume. It smells great!! The Ramones set was from my almost-10-year-old son. It's got an almost full library of their songs and a DVD full of interviews and videos. Funny story about this: Back in August, we were shopping for T's b-day, and I saw this. I picked it up and and told KeKe that this would make a great birthday present for me. Well, he actually remembered--which wouldn't be so strange, because he remembers alot of weird stuff--but this kid can't remember that I asked him to put his backpack away 5 minutes after I ask him. Hadzilla's present is not pictured--it's just a cute pair of pants...and some candy that has long since been eaten! Anyway, Family, I thank you for the super-great gifts.

The flowers and stuff arrived today--they're from my parents. You'll notice the Knit.1 and Creative Knitting. Che, this means you can have your Knit.1 back! You can see for yourself all the other things they sent me. And, since I'm such a nrrrrd, I included the wrapping paper in the pic. I couldn't help myself--it's really cool paper. (Obviously, it's the geometric paper under the candles, and the pink and black paper under the Lifesavers)

I'm still expecting a couple more packages, so when T gets back on Saturday with the camera, I will be sure to post again.
KnitGyverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10803494997138906680noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33985895.post-1159880813994147682006-10-03T08:05:00.000-05:002006-10-03T08:06:53.996-05:00PRGE questionaire updateI updated my questionaire below...the changes are in blue...KnitGyverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10803494997138906680noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33985895.post-1159834767585289732006-10-02T19:09:00.000-05:002006-10-02T19:19:27.596-05:00Some nature to brighten your dayOk, so normally I don't make such a big deal about stuff like this (not that there's anything wrong with it), but there was something about the sky tonight that made everyone in the neighborhood go outside and take a peek.

The day started out sunny and warm, but it rained for most of the afternoon. Around sunset, the sky was taking on that weird yellow/green there-could-be-a-tornado tone, and the sun was setting behind the storm wall.

When we looked to the east, there was a double rainbow. Don't see those very often!!

Accept my apologies for the quality of some of these pictures. After 4 years as a stay at home mom, I feel pretty dull. Haven't had a lot of time to knit lately--and I need to get my butt in gear so I'm not rushed and running late with gifties this December. And I need to use up some of my stash. I have more than I really know what to do with!! I look at it and I feel a little overwhelmed. Looks like I'm going to be busting out a lot of hats, scarves, and legwarmers. You can never have too many of those, right??KnitGyverhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10803494997138906680noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33985895.post-1158497512353988712006-09-17T07:47:00.000-05:002006-09-17T07:51:52.363-05:00So Che and Rachel will get off my back!...
Che has been bothering me to post pictures, and I guess she's recruited Rachel to do the same.
